Trump keeps digging his own hole with his constant hypocrisy and dishonesty. The latest take on him going back on his word involves professional sports players Stephen Curry and Lebron James.
Donald Trump publicly stated at one of his rallies that if a player kneels during the national anthem, then “get that son of a b*tch off the field”.
After going on a rant on twitter about athletes not respecting our country’s anthem, Donald Trump uninvited the Warriors from visiting the White House, a tradition going back to Reagan’s days. The only problem was that Steph Curry already decided that he wasn’t going. On Friday, Curry told reporters he was going to vote no to going to the White House in the first place. This rejection triggered Trump into uninviting the entire team.
In their own statement, the Warriors accepted they would not be going to the White House; “We believe there is nothing more American than our citizens having the right to express themselves freely on matters important to them. We’re disappointed that we did not have an opportunity during this process to share our views or have open dialogue on issues we felt would be important to raise. In lieu of a visit to the White House, we have decided that we’ll constructively use our trip to the nation’s capital in February to celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion – the values that we embrace as an organization.” I can only imagine it’s going to be a very exciting Black History Month next year.
Lebron James later tweeted:
U bum @StephenCurry30 already said he ain’t going! So therefore ain’t no invite. Going to White House was a great honor until you showed up!

He then posted a two-minute video emphasizing Trump’s attempt to divide the country again, and how he’s going to continue using his platform to speak out. James was a vocal supporter of Hillary Clinton during her campaign in 2016 and does not condone Donald Trump’s presidency or policies.
