Recollection

Mind swims miles to a shore

not far from reality

vision breaks.

my Father’s armpits used to scare me

hairy and warts.

now i bathe in his Soap

the sporty one

from the sexist brand.

to the Friend that

impulsively threw her phone in a lake

text me back?

and to someone else,

far off,

i should call.

fingers brush water, phone, and recollection.

I take another glance.

touch fingernails to water’s surface.
