Camila Cabello Cuts Deep With New Song ‘I Have Questions’

Former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello recently released her new single “I Have Questions” from her upcoming album The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving, and boy, is it emotional.

In the song, Cabello ponders the questions that may come across someone’s mind after a breakup/ending of a friendship. “I have questions for you. Number one, tell me who you think you are. You got some nerve trying to tear my faith apart. Number two why would you try and play me for a fool? I should have never ever ever trusted you. Number three, why weren’t you, who you swore that you would be? I have questions, I got questions haunting me.” Cabello bellows in the first chorus.

As the song goes on, Camila’s vocals sound more and more raw and emotional, she definitely shows you exactly what she’s feeling and makes you feel those things with her. It shows a new, impassioned side of Camila that I feel like fans (or at least casual fans) haven’t seen before.

“I Have Questions” also portrays a very real situation that I feel many people will be able to see themselves in, whether it be a friend or lover. Cabello sings about the feelings of confusion you may feel after one leaves. Why aren’t they who they were in the beginning? Why would they do this to me? She somehow manages to jam pack all of those confusing feelings of anger, hurt, sadness, and bewilderment in one beautifully crafted ballad.

At first, I’ll admit I was skeptical of Camila’s solo career, but as of right now I am undoubtedly excited to see what else she has up her sleeve. You can listen to “I Have Questions” by Camila Cabello below.
